Visitation Rules

There are two options for conducting inmate visitation.

• All remote video visits take place through ViaPath’s GettingOut video visitation service, costing $0.25 per minute. These visits get charged for the visit time you use.
• Only your incarcerated loved one can initiate a video visit with you anytime using the on-demand “Visit Now” feature. An inmate can initiate these visits, but not by friends and family outside the facility.
• Each Remote visit session is 20 minutes.
• Visitation timings are 7 A.M. and 9:30 P.M

All onsite video visits are currently suspended for Maricopa County prisons.

VISITOR/INMATE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR REMOTE AND ONSITE VIDEO VISITATION

1. GENERAL VISITATION RULES:
• All non-privileged video visits are subject to monitoring and recording by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
• Objects in your residence, including but not limited to furniture, photographs, or other personal items, may be visible behind you during your visit.
• Visitors must be at least 18 years old to have an approved MCSO/ViaPath visitation “Friends and Family” account to have a remote video visit.
• Visitors under 18 must be accompanied on-screen by an adult at all times during a visit.
• “Friends and Family” can only create and use one account. Any additional (duplicate) accounts are subject to suspension and being blocked from further use.
• Friendly reminder: Only use your account to avoid restrictions or being blocked.
• During the visit, all individuals must be identifiable. Failure to do so may result in the termination of the visit and additional discipline or restrictions.
• During visits, strict rules regarding dress code, electronic devices, drug activity, and conduct exist. Violating these rules will result in visit cancellation, a 30-day visitor account restriction, potential barring from future visitation, and possible disciplinary action for the inmate.
2. ILLICIT BEHAVIOR:
• Prison authorities will not tolerate Nudity, self-stimulation, or ANY signs of sexual activity by either the visitor or the inmate.
• Note: Violating these rules will result in the cancellation of the visit, a 30-day restriction, and could lead to you being barred from further visitation at the discretion of MCSO staff. It is not required that MCSO staff see genitalia or explicit activity of any kind to impose a 30-day restriction or impose a permanent ban. Please adhere to these rules to avoid any such consequences.
3. DRESS CODE: All visitors and inmates must always remain fully and properly dressed for a visit. Profanity includes wearing appropriate clothing that is not revealing or offensive.
• Violations to the dress code include but are not limited to
Wearing see-through clothing, sheer blouses, or excessively revealing clothing.
• Any full or partial nudity.
• Wearing swimming attire.
• Clothing that is above mid-thigh, including cutoff shorts.
• Display of any undergarments.
• Wearing tank tops, halter tops, or any garment that may expose excessive cleavage.
• Excessively tight clothing.
• Wearing clothing that may display paraphernalia, drugs, specific gang ties, names, symbols, or logos.
• Visitors must wear shoes for onsite visitation.
• Inmates may NOT wear any headwear unless it is an approved religious item worn appropriately.
• Inmates must be fully dressed during the entire visit.
4. ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
• No taking photos or video recordings of inmate(s).
• No additional cell phones or other electronic device use is allowed during visits.
• Inmates may NOT request to be photographed or recorded.
• Do not access computers for social media, such as Facebook and Snapchat. Etc.
• Posting of messages on behalf of inmates will result in a 30-day restriction.
• Relaying messages to other parties, excluding legal counsel, will result in a 30-day restriction.
5. DRUG ACTIVITY:
• Display or use of drugs, alcohol, or being intoxicated during a visit will result in visit termination and restrictions on the visitor.
6. OTHER CONDUCT:
• Inmates or visitors may not engage in gang activity or business, including displaying gang tattoos, hand signs, or colors.
• Inmates cannot have other inmates participate during a visit; This includes no sharing of the screen or any form of communication.
• Visitors may NOT visit with any other inmate or multiple inmates. Visitors MAY ONLY visit with the scheduled inmate. If a visitor visits with anyone other than the scheduled inmate, The facility will place a 30-day restriction on the visitor, and both inmates are subject to disciplinary action.
• Inmates who relay messages will be subject to disciplinary action.
• The facility will not tolerate any verbal abuse or disrespect by either party, which will result in immediate visit termination.
